Two of San Francisco's leading theater companies celebrate their 40th-anniversary seasons this year with an unprecedented collaboration. In A.C.T. Artistic Director Carey Perloff's scintillating new play Luminescence Dating, sparks fly when two hopelessly mismatched lovers find themselves drawn together by the goddess Aphrodite - and their search for a lost statue of the Greek goddess leads them to stumble on an ancient mystery. The New York Times compared Luminescence Dating to the works of Tom Stoppard, declaring that "it rattles with sly wit and with great narrative drama." Be there for history in the making as this inventive and thrilling romance receives its West Coast premiere at Magic Theatre.
